Respiratory masks are vital pieces of kit for all workers who are subject to environments in which exposure to hazardous conditions and substances cannot be controlled or completely eliminated. Employers are required, where necessary, to provide their workers with suitable RPE, with usage usually confined to one employee only. In order for the use of any item of RPE to be effective they must be compliant with health and safety guidelines, appropriate for the job at hand and all employees must have undergone adequate training demonstrating how to make correct use of PPE.
