Class 3 high-visibility clothing is the highest particular class rating in terms of hi-vis clothing. It provides the most background fabric and retro-reflective material, as per how the British standard specifies. 

2. How Do You Clean High-Vis Clothing?

With hi-visibility clothing, it’s important to check the washing and care instructions on each garment’s label. Washing a garment incorrectly can adversely affect its retro-reflective tape and background material.

3. What is the Difference between Class 1, 2 and 3 High-Visibility Clothing?

The class rating of hi-vis clothing refers to the minimum areas of visible material and retroreflective material. In terms of the EN ISO 20471 standards to reach at least class 3, high-visibility garments must have 0.20 square metres of reflective tape and 0.80 square metres of fluorescent material. 

Class 3 offers the highest level of visibility with more extensive reflective and fluorescent areas, making it suitable for high-risk environments such as major roadways and railways.
